Facebook

So I started using Facebook a while ago, and I’m finding it to be a bit addictive. I became interested after my sister-in-law was talking about it. I really didn’t think I’d have much use for it, but I’m amazed at who I’ve found.

I’ve reconnected with almost every one of my (many) college roommates, […]

An “Enchanted” evening

I just got back from my friend Amy’s house, having spent the evening watching “Enchanted” with her, her four-year-old daughter, Kylie, and two of Amy’s neighbors. Since I don’t have a daughter of my own, I like to use my friends’ daughters for some “girlie” time.

I’ve wanted to see “Enchanted” for a while, admittedly […]

I’m in

It’s November, which means that it’s NaBloPoMo, aka National Blog Posting Month. I’m going to give it a shot. I did it last year, but missed one day. I did it in August, and made it the whole month. I think I can do it. But I’m adding another element-I’m going to try to post […]

Welcome, Baby Kelly!!!

My dear friend, Sandy, had a baby girl yesterday morning. Kelly arrived at about 5:00 am after a long labor. She seems like she was worth the work! She weighed 8 pounds and was 20 inches long. Another dear friend, Amy, and I were able to visit this afternoon.

I’m so thrilled for […]

I say it’s my birthday

Happy birthday to me! The day is drawing to a close, and I have to say, it’s been a pretty good one.

I started my day with a run, which took a little motivation, but felt good in the long run. It was all part of my strategic plan (more later). The morning prep went […]

Running for a cause

This morning, my friend, Steph, and I ran the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. We did the untimed 5K, so there wasn’t any pressure. We started on the Summerfest grounds and ran to Veterans Park along the lakefront. It was a cool morning, and overcast, but it was perfect for running. The time […]

I can’t believe I let this happen

Tonight, I had a momentary lapse of reason.

We were at a 40th birthday party for Don, a co-worker of Andy’s. Don and his family are very much into hunting. The front room of their home has about 5 deer heads, a goose, a fox with some bird in it’s mouth, a duck, 2 […]

This Week in Photos: Aug. 24-30

I’ve decided to start a weekly post. It will be called “This Week in Photos” and will appropriately include photos from the past week. I’ll try to do this each Saturday. Since NaBloPoMo ends tomorrow (for me), this is something I can try to keep up with for a while, until I (crazily) decide to […]

It started innocently enough…

The boys and I spent the morning at a “new” park today with Amy, Kylie, and Andy. The three “big kids” did great running on their own, while Andy was a little kamikaze and kept us running after him. There was a nice, shady area just beyond the playground equipment, so to get out of […]

Cheap therapy

For a mere $6, I had a very nice therapy session tonight. All it takes is a house margarita, a “Triple Chocolate Meltdown” (to share), and a couple of hours with three of my best friends to help take some of my worries and frustrations and put them on the back burner.

This was a […]
