Madison Fun

We had tickets for the Badger Band spring concert last night, so Andy took yesterday and today off of work, and we made a mini-vacation out of it.

We left yesterday around 2:30, drove to the west side of Madison, checked into our hotel, then headed downtown to do some shopping before dinner and the […]

Card sharks

Lately, Noah has been playing Crazy Eights with Andy pretty much every day. It started with Uno at Andy’s parents’ house, but since we don’t have Uno cards (until Easter, wink, wink), Andy and Noah play Crazy Eights. It’s quite fun, and Noah’s gotten pretty good at it.

The other night, Caden wanted to play, […]

Saturday morning fun

This morning, Andy and Noah got out the dominoes. They built a line to knock over, then Noah headed upstairs to get dressed. This is how I found Andy and Caden a few minutes later.

We kept telling Caden to not get too close and to wait for Noah. He was quite patient. I […]

Caden’s memory

So, my three-year-old appears to have a pretty lousy memory. I use the word “appears” because I think it has more to do with his priorities than anything else.

For instance, you could ask him what he had for lunch two hours ago, and he may not remember, probably if it was something he […]

Still employed

No, it’s not me that had the potential to be unemployed. Well, I suppose there’s always the chance I could lose my job, but people are still getting hurt, having surgery, having strokes, getting UTI’s, getting dehydrated, getting pneumonia, breaking bones, fainting, and crabbing about their pain, so I’m pretty safe for a while.

Andy […]

Bits of my day

This morning, we were able to start our day in one of my favorite ways-the boys climbing into bed (nicely waiting until after the clock says “7-zero-zero” to come in our room) and all of us snuggling. Then off to breakfast, and no other agenda for a few hours. We cleaned up a bit, built […]

Weekend in the Windy City

A couple of months ago, Andy and I started talking about taking the boys to Chicago. We thought they’d enjoy the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum. This was our weekend to go, and we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend.

We headed out early Saturday morning to drive down. We endured the dreaded […]

A very nice day

Today has been a pretty nice Sunday. Many of you may know that I often suffer from “S.A.D.” which I have renamed to “Sunday Affective Disorder.” It was especially bad in grad school when Andy lived in Appleton and I was still in Madison and we had to go our separate ways on Sundays. Now […]

Random ramblings

There are a few things I want to note today, so I’ll just run down a list:

* A few days ago, Noah mentioned that one of his teeth hurt. My first thought was, “OMG, could it be a loose tooth?!” But then he pointed to one of his eye teeth or something, so I […]

It’s that time again

I don’t know how many of you know this about my husband, but he LOVES Christmas. No, really. It’s his favorite time of the year. It’s nice to not live with a Scrooge, but sometimes it’s a bit much. My biggest complaint is his love of Christmas music. It has its place and time, but […]
