The assignment given to us by Beth for this week was to find love around our homes. We were to capture what we love, what gives us joy as we look around our home. Here’s what I found.
We had this bulletin board for a while, and finally Andy wanted to put it up. He found the pictures on the computer-I took them. He hung the bulletin board. And since I was having a bad day, he put up that note. He put the note up last summer. It hasn’t come down since.
My mom knit this blanket for Caden, and it’s his “best friend”. He has a favorite hole on it (it’s knit to have small holes around the outside). As soon as he picks it up, his thumb goes into his mouth. I love how he positions his hand while he sucks his thumb. I love how he gives his blankie a hug and a kiss when it’s time to leave it in bed. I know he shouldn’t suck his thumb forever, but I hope he has his blankie forever.
I took these pictures of the boys two summers ago. I love the joy on their faces. I remember that day very clearly. I hope I always remember it.
My sweet little baby boys. These pictures were each taken when they were still in the hospital. I love their precious little faces. They sit on a shelf in my bedroom.
Andy put this collage together for me for my first Mother’s Day after Caden was born. He actually took all the pictures, too. It hangs on a wall in my bedroom. I so love this.
We bought this mirror in Mexico on our honeymoon. It’s one of the only things we had to pay for on our honeymoon. Seriously. We had the entire cost of our honeymoon refunded because they overbooked our resort and we agreed to switch resorts. So all we paid for were our excursions, this mirror, and a Mayan calendar with our wedding date on it. We paid about $500 or so for our honeymoon. Cool!
My grandmother was a very talented watercolor artist. This is one of her pictures. It hangs in our front hallway and I walk past it several times a day. I love that.
When my grandmother passed away, my cousins, my brother, and I were able to choose some items from her apartment. I got this marble top chest. I love it. The door doesn’t clasp well, the marble top slides off if you’re not careful, and the drawers don’t slide very well, but I love it.
Love can be found anywhere in your house. Just look.
Go here to see what others have found.
That watercolor painting is perfect. I would smile every time I walked past it, too. Love the shots of the shots of your kiddos! Oh and blankies, yeah they are BIG in this house, too!
I love your items of love! We captured some of the same ideas — artwork, family photos, momentos from a grandmother. It’s these items that cost so little that mean so much!
That blanket is precious!
That b&w picture is wonderful! That would definitely make me smile! Great shots…love the fact you have the table from your Grandmothers. Hugs for keeping it alive and in the family!
I love the photos of your boys smiling so big. 🙂
Who wouldn’t love the pictures of those big smiles and that mirror is beautiful. Great captures.
I love seeing everyone’s photos this week…it’s taking a little peek inside their home and seeing what kinds of things they enjoy. It’s a great way to get to know people. 🙂 Great pictures! I love the mirror shot!
Love the love you captured this week!
Caden and those portraits are just amazing! I totally love the blankie thing. So sweet. =)
So much love, so little time! Your house is brimming with beautiful things. I have a thumb-sucker with a blankie too.
