Well, there’s no You Capture this week, but I made up this post anyway. It’s about our Christmas celebrations on Christmas Day. Enjoy!
On Christmas Eve, the boys laid out the cookies, coffee cake, carrots, and cheese (for Santa Mouse), along with a letter to Santa explaining that the cheese was for Santa Mouse.
Christmas Day started with the boys waiting “patiently” on the landing of our stairs for Andy and I to be ready to document the day’s proceedings, then their excitement as they came down the stairs.
First they had to get a little nourishment from our traditional Swedish Coffee Cake!
The first presents they opened were from Santa. Caden got the Diego Rescue Pack he had asked for, and Noah got a giant Transformers toy, called “Devastator” that Noah keeps calling “Demastator”. You can see the joy on their faces.
Noah also got a “Build-your-own Blaster” which I think he was more excited about than Devestator! I’m really not a fan of having guns in my house, but I couldn’t deny Noah this toy.
The boys lovingly made me some necklaces with their names made out of square beads. (Notice in the first shot below how they’re looking around, checking out their goods!)
Andy got a nice scarf from me, and he looks so nice trying it on with his festive Santa hat!
Love for the boys.
My parents came over then, and after a nice brunch of an egg bake, cinnamon muffins, Swedish Coffee Cake, and mimosas, it was time for round two of presents.
My parents gave both boys some Legos. Noah got a new Star Wars Lego set, and Caden got a firehouse set. You can see how Noah is quite pleased, and Caden is a little disappointed. “But I wanted a Star Wars Lego too!”
Every year we give our family members calendars with pictures from the previous year.
After the fun with my parents, we headed over to Andy’s parents’ house for round three!
Caden got a cool new guitar, and Noah got some more Star Wars Legos.
Andy’s parents gave the boys Wii Sports Resort, and Noah got a little fired up about that!
And Caden had some fun with the video camera.
We ended the evening with a great family picture. (I wish we’d gotten one with my parents!)
It was a great Christmas day. It was full of love, and warmth, and family. Just how Christmas should be.
Sounds like a wonderful holiday!! I love seeing the pure glee on the boys’ faces. 🙂 Happy New Year!!
