Today was “Family Fun Day” for Badger Football at Camp Randall Stadium. It’s a chance to meet players and coaches, get autographs, and spend a couple of hours on the turf, which is hallowed ground to many. We found out about it very last minute this morning, but seeing as Madison is a little over an hour away, and the event started at 3:00 this afternoon, we decided to give it a shot.
It was a lot of fun! Before we got to the stadium, we drove around campus, showing the boys the numerous places we’d lived (never together!), and checking out Bascom Hill. Then we headed to the stadium. It was very hot, about 87 degrees or so, and down on the field, it often felt much warmer. But the boys had a good time pretending to get a touchdown in the endzone, meeting Bucky Badger (again), trying to kick a field goal (tough in sandals!), and playing catch with a Badger player. We didn’t spend time trying to get autographs. What would we do with them? But we got some posters, and the boys were treated to new Badger hats and a new Badger football. Here are some pictures:
