You Capture: Independence Day and Food

Oh. I just realized that the assignment this week also included food. Hmm. I have plenty of pictures from Independence Day, and plenty of food was eaten. I just didn’t get pictures of it. But I have pictures of the boys at the parade, where they ate their fair share of candy. It pays to be cute!

We had a great time at the parade. Our families came, and it wasn’t totally sunny so we weren’t roasting sitting there!

Later that afternoon, we headed out west a bit to our friend’s parents’ home on the lake. It’s an (almost) annual tradition. We swim (but not me this year-too cold!), and eat, and go out on the pontoon boat. It’s always a great time. This year, we stayed for the fireworks that are set off right at the shore across the lake, and we had front row seats in the boat. My friend’s 2-year-old, Andrew, wasn’t too sure about it, but he was a trooper!

Here he is. We’re best buds. (Caden is in the background being silly with Andrew’s big sister.)
