I was just headed upstairs with some laundry to sort (exciting!) when I realized I hadn’t blogged yet today! I’ve made it this far-there’s no way I’m going to blow it now!
Andy and I just got back from the Brewer game. They won! It was a great game! We had awesome seats, CC Sabathia is now 8-0 after pitching the entire game, the weather was great, and the roof was open. It was quite enjoyable.
On another note, it’s the 8th anniversary of our engagement! I can still very vividly remember the day Andy proposed. We were at the playground of our elementary school. Yes, our elementary school. Andy and I met in 3rd grade! The proposal was a complete surprise, as was the ring. I was swinging away, when Andy asked, “Do you know what day it is?”
I started to panic. It’s the day of some special event in our lives? Not that I can remember. Oh crap!
Then Andy said, “It’s August 18th, 2000-the day I ask you to marry me!” Then I stopped swinging, Andy got down on one knee, opened up the ring box, and the rest is a little blurry! I remember crying! And saying yes!
We had a great time telling our families, as well. I remember Andy’s mom calling him a “Little Shit” repeatedly! It was a really great day. Ah, the memories!
Too funny. Chris’ Mom called him an ass and kept telling me I was marrying one because he didn’t tell his Mom that he was going to propose. That’s mostly because we all knew she wouldn’t have been able to keep the secret! It’s definitely fun to remember those things.
